The amazing benefits of a regular Yoga practice are well researched and documented. The body is designed to move! The more you move it - the healthier it will be and the greater you will feel. Our classes are slower and a more mindful approach to postures (Asana). The Asana is held for a bit longer allowing muscles to stretch effectively. You will be guided into the posture and asked to hold, focus and breathe deeply.
Flexibility is not required as we hold the posture in whatever position your body will allow it to move into. Past participants have felt a difference in as little as three sessions with more energy, less stress and more flow in life.
Meditation classes on the Strand are a perfect complement to the physical aspect of Yoga. While the Sun rises over the Ocean we practice traditional breathing techniques and a different type of Meditation each week. The result is a calm and focused mind. At the end of each class is an extended guided relaxation that results in an overall state of deep internal calmness, inner balance and harmony.
